The Village of Richton Park and the Friends of Richton Park Foundation hosted its annual President's Scholarship Golf Outing on Friday, June 10th, 2022, at Glenwoodie Golf Club in Glenwood, IL. 

 

On behalf of Richton Park and the Friends of Richton Park Foundation, we would like to express our highest gratitude to all sponsors and participants, Village staff, Ravisloe staff, and volunteers, as the generosity displayed helped make this year's event an extreme success.

The original President's Golf Outing is an annual event that dates back nearly forty years. At the turn of the    Millennium, however, the Golf Outing was then planned as a fundraising event to benefit the Bill Fleming Scholarship, which was first awarded in 1998. This scholarship initiative aims to reward  Richton Park students who exhibit academic achievement and desire with exceptional character. 

 

William "Bill" Fleming was a lifelong resident of Richton Park who was very involved in the community and  significantly influenced the youth and people in general. Early on, he was instrumental in sponsoring and promoting the President's Scholarship Golf Outing, and after his death, the scholarship was named in his memory. Fleming died, in Richton Park,  in 1999 at the age of 79.

This year's record-breaking attendance, 90+ golfers supported this year's golf outing as we raised $29,000 dollars and awarded 4 scholarships to Richton Park  students. The day was memorable, fun, and  competitive, followed by attendees enjoying a  barbecue dinner, winning stellar prizes, and having a good time. 

 

President Reinbold was proud of this year's efforts, stating, "It is such a pleasure to see so many individuals and companies participate and donate to support the continuing education of our community's young people. We want to thank everyone who helped make this effort possible."
